Two Carpathian Passes to Radauti (2,702 km)

(2023-05-31/06-01) One last look at the snow-covered peaks of the Rodna Mountains, then we cross the Prislop Pass (1416 m). Afterwards, five men are crossing the border to Suceava County and thus to Bukovina; four of them share 4 HP, one needs a whole 111 HP to overcome the Ciumârna Pass (1100 m). Arriving in Rădăuți, I go to the Jewish Cemetery, no, by no means a compulsory task, but I would have a bad feeling if I did not visit the grave of my late friend Dorin Fränkel (1945-2011), who unfortunately died much too early. He himself did not care about genealogy, but with his selfless work he laid the foundation for the projects "The Radautz Jewish Vital Records Database 1857-1929" and "The Jewish Cemetery of Radautz"

Numerous people, hundreds if not thousands, were able to reconstruct their family roots or request valuable documents for citizenship matters:

Rădăuți is decorating for International Children's Day on June 1, a public holiday in Romania and the start of a long, very long, as we will see, XXXL weekend.
