(Cluj-Napoca, 23.06.2012 - 24.06.2012) Enroute to Cluj-Napoca, I'm making a stopover in Simleu Silvaniei for a visit of the Northern Transylvania Holocaust Memorial Museum, claiming to be the very first one in Romania. The museum is affiliated to the Jewish Architectural Heritage Foundation.
As the synagogue is currently under reconstruction, the exhibition is temporarily lcated in an old Jewish school building, but the museum staff is making the best of this situation and - no surprise - one can discover Czernowitz-related exhibits as well.
