Waiting for Putin in the Old Town of Galați (2,521 km)

(2022-05-07/08) The world is waiting for Putin's speech on Victory Day and so do I, by roaming through the Old Town of Galați. The building stock has to be classified somewhere between desolate and catastrophic. Only one single building is in a good condition, the Synagogue of Artisans, about the rest make your own picture.

No doubt about, many of these houses once belonged to Jews. What happened to them? A graphic exhibition, an display boards at the Mihai Eminescu Park, provides information about this. The INSHR (Elie Wiesel National Institute for Studying the Holocaust in Romania) project was realized by local students and teachers, other cities are also involved, including Suceava.
